Club History
125 years ago some now unknown individuals, or at least unknown to many of the present members, decided to meet and created Lowestoft Rugby Club later to be amalgamated with Gt. Yarmouth Rugby Club to form our present Club. In 1879 when the Rugby Club was formed there was a war with the Zulu’s going on, Britain and France decided to have dual control of Egypt, and the original Tay Bridge was destroyed. It would be interesting to know what the original members would think now, looking at our superb grounds, our plans for the refurbishment of our Clubhouse, and the excellent work of those Committee members who have served tirelessly over the years.
Forty one years ago on the 5th September 1964 our present ground Gunton Park was opened.
