Welcome to the Club's home page

Lowestoft and Yarmouth Rugby Club is the most easterly club in the United Kingdom.
The Club runs four senior sides and youth teams of all ages from mini's to under 17's.

Our Rugby is played at Gunton Park, a very picturesque, nine acre site purchased by some of our older Vice Presidents in 1960. We welcome new players and spectators alike.

Waveney DC plans for the next 20 years

Extract from EDP 17 November

A blueprint for major development across Waveney over the next 20 years is being unveiled today with suggested sites for a new cemetery, primary school and sports pitches.

About 2,500 new homes are expected to be built across the district by 2025 - with about 74pc planned for Lowestoft - and as well as homes, Waveney District Council's new plans include proposed sites for rugby and football pitches, village greens and a new crematorium.

NEWMARKET - 25

With Newmarket lying third in EC1, L&Y always knew this was going to be tough encounter and they came worryingly close to gifting Newmarket the two points in a thrilling match at Gunton Park.  Both sides had key players missing but that just served to even up the teams and, in a tit-for-tat game that kept the large crowd on tender hooks, L&Y's renewed character finally shone through when they overcame a 10-point deficit to power home.
