Scott Nelson - Director of Rugby

After 2 years Gary Cooper has passed over the reins of Director of Rugby to Scott Nelson. Gary can look back on his two year tenure with pride as he has contribution significantly to the clubs success during this time.

Scott Nelson is 27 years old and has gained considerable experience notably with Woy Woy in Australia, North Walsham and Carlisle. His honours include; Norfolk U 17's, Central Coast Colts (Australia) and Eastern Counties Seniors.

 

George Aylott (1924-2009)

I am sure that many of you will already know but for those that do not it is with sadness that I have to annouce that George our long serving barman at the club died suddenly at home on the 9th June 2009.

George’s funeral took place at the Belton Church on the 23rd June and he now rests in the Belton Burial Grounds.

Amazingly George was survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and he had one daughter. The Club's condolences go out to all his family.

 

Another season will shortly be upon us and after last season’s great success in both the league and National Cup we will be looking forward to continuing our fine form.
I hope everyone has enjoyed a few weeks of peace and relaxation and , for those that don't know , we have been running two sessions a week throughout May & June specifically concentrating on ball handling and fitness. This will continue on Tuesdays & Thursdays until training offically starts on Tuesday 7th July at 7.15 sharp.

Simon Titterington - Forwards
Paul Alcock - Fitness
Shaun McArthur - SAQ / Warm up

As you will know our 1st team captain, Danny Simmons, is out of action with a long term injury so the committee has approached him and asked if he would take on the 1st team Managers role. He has accepted. Our 1st XV Manager from last year, Matt Jary, will now Chair the Playing sub committee and act as liaison between the 1st & 2nd XV. he will continue as Press Officer.
